Motel 6 Pleasanton, CA consistently receives negative reviews citing cleanliness issues, including roach infestations, mold, and dirty rooms. Guests report issues with unresponsive management, aggressive behavior from staff, and a generally neglected property. Despite occasional positive comments regarding friendly staff and a decent location, the overwhelming majority of feedback highlights significant problems.
Rooms 136 and 113 were filled with roaches. Main parking lot is tightly crammed and there was glass in the main aisle to which the workers said "Someone probably JUST dropped it" after the fact that my car got a flat from it. Bad service. Terrible sanitation (if any). Disgusting. Photos only show the small roaches, believe me, there were all sizes in there.
After I checked in August, there was a blackout which started around 4 pm. I had to wait outside for the next 3 hours since it was too hot without the AC in the room. Since it was getting dark and the manger did not know when the electricity will be back, I asked for a refund so I can go to another hotel. The manger said he could not process the refund since the computer is down. I left without a refund. When I returned to the motel 6 Pleasanton a later day for a refund, the manager refused to refund because the blackout was caused by the PG&E utility company. I even asked for a day of stay at the motel 6 instead of a refund when the motel 6 is not full.
Okay so I had booked a room at this establishment I've been coming here for a lil now I travel for work so when I book here it's to lay my head down at night and go about my day but this time I paid for a room I had a really bad experience. So I got harassed by the manager and by the staff of this place I was called late at night so he can yell at me about leaving a one star review I previously made. He was so unprofessional he asked me to come to office to talk about a review I left his establishment so when I came down from my room to talk to him he started yelling and putting his hands in my face telling me to shut up listen and some more crazy stuff. I'm a retired marine so when I told him to lower his hands and lower his voice when speaking to me he started yelling over talk me trying to intimidate me but not me sir wrong one so he then asked me to step out front of the office so we can continue this conversation which I had no problem after getting in my face so we stepped to the front and police were called by other visitors cus he tried to tell me to take down the 1 star review or I would be on a no rent list because of the review I had to let him know that you can't not harass customers because of the experience that they have in your establishment he then told me what was the cause of my one-star review I told him clearly that it was customer service it was not up to par it was just downright disrespectful and he wanted to know what was said between me and the associate that made me want to leave this review it doesn't matter you need to work on your establishment and your team before you criticize and harass customers that are paying money to stay here he's in starting some more stuff we were face to face luckily it died down but this establishment is a good establishment if you want to lay your head down just passing through but the staff from the management to the front desk are unprofessional they don't know how to talk to people they don't know how to treat people I simply told him if you want your establishment to get a five-star rating then stand on what you guys are trying to give to the customers this right here is not going to get you a five-star review so you calling me at 10:30 at night to harass me about a one-star review that you got then to get in my face then to tell me that I'm red flag I've ever renting here again because of an opinion I had stated and now you felt like it would be necessarily to get in my face to almost fight me because of what I said about your establishment well you going to be turning over on this one because this is not okay you can put me on a no rent I don't care like motel 6 you're not the last hotel in in the area and the way you guys treat people why would anybody want to come back
Everything was great! Thr bed was comfortable. I can only ask for better maintenance because mold was found here and there as was mild leftovers from previous clients.
Motel 6 Pleasanton, CA stands out as one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had, and I feel genuinely compelled to warn others before they end up in the same miserable situation. The problems started the moment I arrived. My room key didn’t work—at all. I had to leave my luggage at the door upstairs like an abandoned afterthought and trek all the way back to the front desk just to get the key reprogrammed. An inconvenience? Absolutely. But sadly, this was only the beginning. When I finally got into the room, I was stunned. The ceiling was visibly bubbling, as if the water damage had been ignored for far too long. It immediately set the tone: the entire building felt neglected, worn down, and shockingly below any standard I have ever encountered at a listed hotel. It gave off the unmistakable vibe of a place that has not seen proper care or maintenance in ages. Then came the night—an absolute nightmare. Guests were stomping, yelling, running around, and making noise all night long, with zero signs of management stepping in or even being aware of the chaos. If you’re hoping for sleep, peace, or anything remotely close to a normal hotel environment, you will not find it here. And as if the room’s condition and noise weren’t enough, it didn’t even have basic necessities. No iron. No ironing board. I had to walk back to the front office in the morning out in the freezing weather, only to be handed an iron and a towel—not even an ironing board—by a staff member whose attitude made the situation feel even worse. By the end of my stay, I was left absolutely shocked and disappointed that this place is being offered as acceptable lodging at all. In my opinion, this property should not be listed on any reputable booking platform until there are significant renovations, management improvements, and a total reevaluation of customer service standards. If you value your time, money, comfort, or sanity, avoid Motel 6 Pleasanton, CA at all costs. This stay failed on every possible level, and I truly hope others can dodge the headache I experienced here.
These rooms need a remodeling so bad, showers have mold, the bed is awful you feel springs when you lie down omg it’s awful Rooms our so out dated like we are in 1980’s the tv is like 20 years old, and to charge $100 a night Edit. I’m going through some remodeling in my apartment and that’s why I stay here when needed, today October 6th I was refused a room because of the review I made last week, I just talked to Motel 6 corporate regarding this and they said it’s unacceptable and will escalate this.. in today’s world we have every right to leave reviews without any repercussions, just shows you the level of low class the business owner is , I will also file with the health department,! They messed with the wrong guy
The bed was hard, the floors weren't sweeped, and there's a cock roach infestation that appears to be affecting several rooms. A lot people were putting any food containers in the outside trash bins
Should be all 0 stars. Definitely not a 3.7... That is laughable and I bet the owners hired bots to write reviews. This place is a dump. As people walk by you feel your whole room shake on the second floor. The concrete walkway and stairway feel and looks like it is going to fall apart. There was what looked like beard hair on one of my pillows and in one of the coffee cups. There was a fly in the room. The TV sucks, the room is outdated. Trash sitting outside of the rooms. When I checked in the front lady was more interested in her FaceTime call than checking me into my room. The air conditioner is full of dust and hardly works. The door is filthy, the bathroom- disgusting. Overall not a clean place to stay. If you have kids DO NOT stay here. If you need to get by cheap for a night, your car is probably a better option. Pool is closed. Dog barking when you walk past. This place does not fit in in Pleasanton. Whoever owns this place should be embarrassed, I know it is only a Motel 6 but have some pride!!! This place is disgusting. It really should be demolished.
Amazing service, clean rooms. Really better than I remember. The last time I had them was probably 2015. Wally Jo's THUMBS-UP. Additional info: Rooms, clean. Parking, plenty free with the location. Wheelchair friendly. No diner just vending, washing, and drying machines.
When we first got to our room, we noticed that the floor was wet due to the refrigerator being off. When I opened the fridge, the freezer part was extremely dirty. The floors are not clean either so I would recommend bringing slippers or else the bottom of your feet will get completely black and it will even leave a stain. We washed our son’s feet multiple times and could not get the black residue off. If traveling with family, I recommend staying at another hotel. I’ve stayed at our motel 6’s and this has been by far the worst and dirtiest hotel we’ve stayed at.
