The Residence Inn by Marriott Pleasanton receives mixed reviews, with many guests praising its convenient location, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff, especially highlighting the exceptional service provided by some team members. However, recurring concerns include inconsistent room cleanliness, noise levels (particularly from neighboring rooms and events), and infrequent service requests fulfillment, with certain guests experiencing issues regarding housekeeping and staff responsiveness.
First the specifics....a five day stay.....3rd floor, middle of the secondary building, right above the swimming pool, lovely view of said pool. Day one.....at 10:15pm, bunch of teenagers playing in the pool, pool was supposed to be closed at 10, therefore not good night's sleep. Day 2, Absolutely NO service to our room!! Not even to empty trash can or get a second roll of toilet paper!! Apparently a wedding happened and ALL of the guests were on our floor--loud and partying until well after midnight, when I stuck my head out the door to tell them to shut up!! Day 3, we mention our displeasure to the staff, not a whole lot of response.....but we DID get the room cleaned and refreshed finally! The location is fabulous...the bed comfortable, the room amenities great, but the one thing--the service of the staff-- that CAN be controlled is the one thing that HASN'T been. Residence Inn....do better!!!
My self and my boyfriend stay at the residence inn quite a bit we love it. The hospitality is fantastic the rooms are great there's a gym there's food in the morning's. BBQ grills available for use. Shopping close by. Its quite there fire pits to sit by near the pool. Very nice all around wonderful.
AWESOME AMAZING WONDERFUL STAY. From the moment I checked in, I met the most amazing front desk team. So polite. So professional. Next day i was running late, overslept, and i ran to desk to see if shuttle can take me to train station. I met the lovely Ms. JOY at the desk. (Even though policy says guest has to call 2 hours prior to request shuttle) and no driver was available, she did not hesitate, seeing how I was late for doctor appointment, she asked her General Manager and I literally saw him get up from what he was doing to assist. I am truly in awe of everyone willingness to help. The most Sr. Leader, Mr. SAM B, I am sure he has a million important things to do rather than take me to train. But that is exactly what he did. I was able to make the train. Entire ride SAM kept a polite conversation. Next few days I saw JOY few more times on different shifts. Great hotel, awesome location. Nice breakfast. Clean rooms. But it is the Sr. Leadership and team that will make me come back. Thank you again
As someone who exclusively stays at bonvoy properties both for leisure and long term for work related projects, this hotel deserves higher reviews. For leisure I stay at 4-5 star Marriott properties, for work I typically stay at residence inn type properties. This is no resort and I think some reviews reflect dissatisfaction expecting such a thing but for long term stays this is actually really really really nice…one of the best I’ve stayed at. Yes, the building is older, but honestly the rooms are cozy and quaint, the furniture is really comfortable compared to the modern long term builds that exist out there, and the staff has been phenomenal. I’ve only been here a week, and have been recommend by my work colleagues to stay here as well and I absolutely love it. So much so, that after my next hotel I booked a reservation back here again and likely will month by month for as long as I am out here for work. The studios are spacious and the kitchen has modern appliances. The pool is crystal clear and nice and refreshing after a day out hiking. I’ve been obsessed with the pool since arriving. The hot tub is also hot and is nice as well but I’d recommend more frequent cleaning as I’ve seen some algae or stuff in it. Perhaps prohibit kids from going in it as well since I see kids in there a lot so I’m not sure what’s contributing to some of the gunk I’ve seen in it but no complaints other than that because I’m usually in the regular pool. There’s also plenty of seating to soak in some sunshine. Back to the staff, everyone I have interacted with that works here is SO KIND AND WELCOMING. There are top star employees here and I really do appreciate it as I get home sick sometimes and they make it feel like home. Literally everyone from house keeping to the maintenance guys to the front desk has been SO NICE. Anyway, I highly recommend this hotel for long term stays, it feels like a mini apartment complex, parking is safe, I feel safe walking around the area and the location is close to a lot stores and groceries such as outlets for shopping, a mall across the street, downtown Pleasanton and more.
I've stayed in this Residence Inn for over 100 nights over the past few years. The staff has generally been excellent (although the night staff is often difficult / impossible to find). The location is convenient if you are in Dublin/Pleasanton for work and have a car, but walkability is poor. Breakfasts are generally good (as far as hotel breakfasts are concerned). There is no dedicated porte-cochère (motor court) for pickup/dropoff/checkin and the hotel allows hotel vans and guests to park in the spots that are meant to be dedicated to check-in / check-out, so be prepared to park far from the front desk or bite the bullet and park in the fire lane (which is what most people do, so be prepared to potentially be blocked in for a few minutes as well). The room quality is hit or miss. There is little/no sound insulation between floors, so be prepared to hear a lot from your upstairs neighbor (seems like hotel room HIIT workouts are pretty big these days...). Kitchens are fine but don't consistently have the same cookware -- sometimes the bowls are impractically small and larger mixing bowls are missing. It seems like the staff doesn't check the kitchen inventory between room turns. I've had a couple of rooms that clearly smelled strongly of dog urine (I suspect this is common given the pet policy -- many rooms just have an extremely strong carpet cleaner / air freshener smell). Bathroom cleanliness can be an issue too, particularly in the showers (verging on you-should-bring-flip-flops-if-you-stay-here territory). It's also worth noting that this location doesn't seem to recognize Marriott loyalty (or even frequent guests to this particular location). I'm almost always greeted as if it is my first time to the hotel (odd given that I'm certain the booking software clearly displays loyalty information) and I've only once received a room upgrade. This past trip I was given what is likely the worst room on the property (first floor, right by check-in and the elevator -- constant sources of noise). There are several such rooms at this property, which, imo, should not even exist / should be converted into utility closets. It was a bad enough experience that I switched my two upcoming reservations to the new TownPlace Suites (I've heard good things about this new Marriott extended stay property from several coworkers).
MY HONEST REVIEW: I feel bad leaving a bad review when there are so many good reviews but i cant see this being a 4 star room, i check many sites and they state this is a 4 star, no way. The bed mattress is the thinnest and most uncomfortable i have ever slept on in any hotel, you feel the metal in your back, the air condition and heater is so loud and noisy it shakes the whole room every 20-30 minutes feels like a semi truck passed by, hallways smell like pot, and after checking in extremely hard to find your room because the buildings are not mark & Joy at the front desk wasn't helpful nor joyful, this is a 3 star room and should rent for $100 per night if not you will get a better deal elsewhere, The manager was nice,
I stay here 2 weeks a month. It's close to the interstate, close to shopping, and to food. I've learned to get a room on the courtyard each time as the noise is at a minimum. Staff is first rate. Breakfast buffet ? The rooms have enough of a kitchen that I don't go out to eat every night. Pool and hot tub are good during the summer.
A beautiful and extremely well managed hotel. Fantastic landscaping, nice walking and running paths, and a central location.
I had a very pleasant couple of days at this hotel. The front desk staff were quite frankly delightful both at check in and check out (shout-out to Juliette) and so lovely to us. The rooms were very clean and tidy. I was very surprised that the building we stayed in didn't have an elevator, but they made that clear before they gave us the second floor room we requested, so it was our choice to lug out stuff up and down the stairs. They also upgraded our room free of charge because we prefer to be on a higher floor, which was very kind. The two things that were less than five stars for me are the weird couch (the back reclined rather steeply and then it had these weird bolster things on the back that sort of pushed your head forward) and that the mattress was firmer than what I usually find in hotels. The rest of my stay was so pleasant, however, that I would not cross this location off my list for the future.
I’m giving this place a 1 star because my Prius catalytic converter got stolen parked there during the day. Need more security patrols or feel like I’ve been getting watched by someone that knows the place well there to even calculate my movements like that and then steal it around 12 afternoon -3pm. Very sketchy to me
