The AC Hotel by Marriott Pleasanton offers a modern and relatively well-appointed experience, frequently praised for its cleanliness and convenient location near the mall and restaurants. However, recent reviews highlight inconsistent service, issues with room amenities (like chair availability), and significant operational problems, including unexpected room check-outs and privacy violations.
Stayed here for 3 nights with my husband. The room was clean overall, but some details were overlooked – the shower gel and shampoo dispensers were only about a quarter full. As a Titanium member, we didnt get upgrades at check-in. The biggest disappointment was breakfast. The scrambled eggs were burnt, the chocolate croissant not the quality of a reputable hotel chain, and there were flies lingering around it. The gym has basic equipment, but some machines (such as the bike) could use better maintenance, and water availability was inconsistent. That said, I would like to recognise Supervisor Ivy for her professionalism and empathy in handling our concerns. Her warm smile was genuinely comforting and made a difficult experience much better. I also appreciated GM Diana taking the time to listen and respond positively to the feedback provided. Improvement to attention to details - highly needed for better guest experience.
LOVE THIS HOTEL and the STAFF especially JANE at the front desk! It’s all about the vibe. The pool is great. The lounge is great. The rooms are great. There are three Marriott’s in the area and they are all good. But this one is best by a mile. Thanks to the staff who always take care of me.
Hotel is very convenient for Workday employees and they promote themselves as a business friendly hotel with rooms designed with desks for guests to work in their rooms. Currently (May 2026), having a chair for that desk in the room is first come, first serve bc they have shipped chairs out for repairs. Front desk staff and on-duty managers could care less despite 3 reminders to put my name on the list. They couldn’t even get creative and offer me a conference room chair or a chair from the their own office. Grace-Sales Manager- called to “explain and justify” but there is no excuse. If the room didn’t have a desk chair, then don’t promote the rooms as business traveler friendly. She offered 5,000 Marriott points for my inconvenience and then acknowledge that my Lifetime Titanium Elite status means a lot. Uhhh, if it meant a lot, your team would have gone out of their way to get a chair. Go to Target! Order on Amazon! LAZY LAZY LAZY I won’t be staying there again.
A Frenchly Honest review, as told by MaisOui Le Frenchy. One does not survive decades of hospitality across Europe — from the zinc bars of Paris to the grand salons of Vienna — without developing a finely tuned instinct for the unwelcome. A particular chill in the air. A look that communicates: you may exist, but you need not exist here. I had always assumed this gift belonged exclusively to the Parisian waiter — perfected over centuries, practically a protected cultural institution. And then I met the bartender at AC Hotel Pleasanton. What she accomplished through a single look, a studied posture, and whatever words she deployed in lieu of a greeting was, objectively, extraordinary. I — MaisOui Le Frenchy, a man who has approached bars on three continents without once questioning his right to be there — found myself thinking: what did I do wrong? This is not a sensation I know well. It is also not a sensation any guest should ever know. I did not order a drink. The communication had already been made perfectly clear. The room, for its part, arrived with its own atmosphere: a large, mysterious smear on the exterior of the bathroom door, trailing downward in long dramatic streaks, as though whatever was responsible had made a desperate and unsuccessful bid for freedom. I did not touch it. I did not investigate. One night does not require a formal inquiry. Which is what makes all of this so particularly frustrating. Because the hotel itself is genuinely good. The room is well-appointed, spacious enough to breathe, and the design has been executed with care. The lamps by the pool, in particular, are a small but considered touch — the kind of detail that signals someone, somewhere, actually thought about the experience. For the business traveler who has suffered through the beige indignities of lesser roadside accommodations — and I have, more than I care to recount — this is a meaningful step up. It is worth noting — and fairness demands that I note it — that the manager, upon being made aware of the evening's highlights, was gracious, competent, and genuinely concerned. She is, without question, working above her surroundings. The bones are good. The execution, on two particular fronts, was not. Three stars reflects precisely that arithmetic: a four-star property undone by a bartender who should not be facing guests, and a bathroom door that should have been faced by housekeeping. Fix those two things, and this review writes itself differently.
My experience was pretty good. The only thing I would focus at is having more bright light in rooms for guests who likes brighter rooms at night. Otherwise they can have dark room.
My wife and I reserved a two-night stay at the AC Hotel for our wedding last year — the night before and the night of our wedding. Our check-in for the first night was uneventful, and we expected the following day to be just as smooth. Unfortunately, what happened after our wedding was both shocking and extremely distressing. When we returned to the hotel on our wedding night, we discovered that the hotel had checked us out without any explanation, despite our confirmed reservation for that night. Our room was no longer accessible, and the staff offered no reasonable justification for how or why this error occurred. Instead of enjoying the end of our wedding day, we were left without a room that we had already paid for — effectively leaving us without accommodation on one of the most important nights of our lives. We filed a formal complaint with Marriott shortly afterward. We were told someone would follow up, but we never received any response. To make matters worse, we never received the refund we were promised for the night the hotel improperly removed us from our room. This experience demonstrated not only a lack of basic operational competence, but also a complete failure in customer service and accountability. I would strongly urge anyone considering this property — especially for an important occasion — to proceed with caution.
Fantastic AC. If you are lucky enough to get Ivy at check in you can’t help but start your stay with a smile. Free parking. Rooms are clean modern and well appointed. Across the street from the mall and close to many restaurants etc. Looking forward to my next visit.
I booked a one night stay at the AC Hotel in Pleasanton for 10/11/25-10/12/25. At 9am on our check out day (10/12/25) my partner and I were fully nude, in the middle of having an intimate moment together when a man, who we now know works as housekeeping, opened our door, didn't say who he was and proceeded to ask us, "you check out today?" me and my partner were in shock. My partner told the staff member to get out of our room and he just repeated the same question again. My partner yelled once again to close our door and he finally closed it. My partner clothed himself & walked outside, by this point the man and his cart were by another room down the hall. My partner questioned him, asking what his deal was, then the staff member just asked the same question a third time. My partner then went down to the front desk to make a complaint & all they asked was if we had the "do not disturb" sign on our door. We didn't think it mattered since we used the deadbolt lock. My partner went back to our room & the front desk called us to offer us an extra hour for check out. That didn't help us seeing as how we had somewhere to be at 1:30 & our original checkout time was 12. Then they called back an hour later to offer a free breakfast. We said we simply wanted our money back since our privacy had been invaded for no good reason. This man barged into our room at 9am when checkout wasn't until 12. He didn't even say who he was when he had broken in. This made our stay very uncomfortable, especially when what happened to us wasn't taken seriously by the staff. We have been trying to reach the manager Dianna Teves of the property since our check out day but was told she was out till Thursday (10/16/25). We tried calling again on Thursday when she was supposedly back at the hotel and our call was sent to voicemail. We were told by someone at the front desk on our check out day to look out for an email from them regarding the situation. We still haven’t received any email from them. Today I read a review about how to escalate to someone higher up so i emailed a Marriott executive hoping to finally hear a response.
I had an exceptional stay at AC Hotel Pleasanton! The hotel is modern, stylish, and impeccably clean, with rooms that are both comfortable and well-appointed. The staff were friendly, professional, and went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. I especially appreciated the convenient amenities and the relaxing atmosphere. Whether for business or leisure, I highly recommend AC Hotel Pleasanton for a top-notch experience!
Traveling for business. The hotel rooms were spotless, and the cleaning crew was so kind. Front desk staff were cheerful and helpful around the clock. The restaurant and bar were excellent. Quick service, delicious food, and fantastic drinks. Highly recommend! Overall, I had a very nice two night stay.
